Seasonal Spring

Let's face it, each season has flowers that will be at their best. Depending on how far we have come in cultivation, it is possible to obtain some flowers in any season that used to be unavailable. Tulips are the first example that come to mind.

Nature can only be tamed so much though! There are some highly seasonal flowers that still require that they be enjoyed only in their natural growing times. This week we will explore some of the amazing flowers that set our hearts a flutter when they start becoming available... because it is Spring!

Anemone

This delicate flower reminds us of Poppies because the petals are weightless and paper thin. Anemones are available in a rainbow of colors including the elusive "blue" for flowers.

Lilac
Lilac just feels like Spring. It has a delicate fragrance that lingers long after it has left the room. It is a thirsty flower though and can't be out of water or in extreme temperatures or it will wilt quickly.

Hyacinth
We just love talking with our Spring brides about Hyacinth. The little trumpet flowers are fragrant but last well out of water so are ideal for working into bouquets and corsages. One whiff of these and all their special memories come rushing in!

Daffodil (Narcissus)
Another perfect Spring flower, Daffodils evoke immediate feelings of birth, renewal and life. This flower is such a beacon of hope that The American Cancer Society adopted the flower as a symbol for "a future where cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease."

Cherry Blossoms
Cherry blossoms are much like the season itself. They are fresh, new and incredibly unpredictable. One gust of strong wind can send them scattering but when they are in bloom there is nothing else quite like them!

Hawaii Photo Shoot

Sax-Romney's owner Sean recently had the opportunity to fly down to Hawaii for a photshoot with Jonathan Canlas an amazing Utah Photographer. So of course we had to post some pictures of Hawaii and the trip! The photoshoot included arrangements Sean made himself using decadent phaleonpsis orchids for inspiration.

The linens were provided by our good friend Colby Su of C3 design. She always has the most perfect colors!
